The inside of the ring measured 1.53 inches, so some suppressors will fit inside the handguard. The idea is somewhat similar to what is done for AR ‘pistol’ builds, but with a recoil system adequate for a full size. That is one thing I like about Coda: torquing the barrel nut to spec doesn't impact aligning the handguard. The only issue I have - which is different in the Faxon and Smoke Composites - is there are just thin holes in the carbon fiber with little bolts holding it to the metal mounting ring. I fear flexing will tear up those little holes..
